Why NEASA?

The National Employers’ Association of South Africa is a general employers’ association that represents employers across all sectors.

By virtue of your OPPASA subsidised membership with NEASA we represent OPPASA members at the Metal and Engineering Industries Bargaining Council as well as any other relevant Bargaining Council which we are a party to.

We also provide OPPASA members with industrial relation services on request and at competitive rate.

Although OPPASA and NEASA are both employers organisations, OPPASA is an industry specific organisation who possesses knowledge, insight and information in respect of the specific industry which NEASA cannot provide.

Both organisations therefore provide very important bit distinct benefits to members

Industrial relations services

The subsidised membership with the National Employers' Association of South Africa (NEASA) holds significant additional value for an OPPASA member. Here are some key benefits:

  1. Advocacy and Representation: NEASA acts as a strong advocate for employers' rights and interests. By joining NEASA, an OPPASA member gains access to a powerful representative body that actively engages with government entities, policymakers, and labor unions on critical issues affecting the business environment. NEASA's expert guidance and lobbying efforts help protect and advance the specific concerns of OPPASA members.

  2. Legal Support and Compliance: NEASA provides comprehensive legal support and advice to its members. This includes assistance with employment contracts, labor disputes, disciplinary matters, and compliance with labor laws and regulations. By leveraging NEASA's expertise, OPPASA members can navigate complex legal frameworks, mitigate risks, and ensure adherence to best practices.

  3. Collective Bargaining and Negotiations: NEASA engages in collective bargaining on behalf of its members, helping them secure favorable terms and conditions for their employees. By joining NEASA, an OPPASA member gains a stronger negotiating position, benefiting from the collective power and expertise of the association in reaching fair and mutually beneficial agreements.

  4. Training and Development: NEASA offers training programs, workshops, and seminars aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of employers and their employees. OPPASA members can take advantage of these resources to stay updated on industry trends, improve management capabilities, and foster a culture of continuous learning within their organizations.

  5. Networking and Collaboration: NEASA provides networking opportunities for employers to connect and collaborate with peers from various industries. This facilitates the exchange of ideas, experiences, and best practices, fostering a supportive community where members can learn from each other and build valuable professional relationships.

By joining NEASA, an OPPASA member gains access to a wide range of resources and support that contribute to their business success, legal compliance, and overall growth. NEASA's advocacy, legal expertise, collective bargaining power, training programs, and networking opportunities empower OPPASA members to navigate the challenges of the employment landscape effectively.
