We are writing to inform you about significant changes to OPPASA membership, effective July 2024 onwards. As the outdoor power equipment industry continues to evolve, it is crucial for us to adapt to the changing needs and challenges facing our industry.

One of the most renowned quotes by Steve Jobs resonates deeply with our current situation. As we navigate through these changes, it is imperative that we view them as opportunities for growth and transformation.

The primary reason behind these changes is the declining membership within OPPASA. In the modern age, various influences have contributed to this decline, including shifts in consumer behavior, increased competition, and evolving market dynamics. However, it is essential to recognize that change is inevitable, and we must respond proactively to address these challenges.

In light of these circumstances, OPPASA recognizes the need to cut operational costs drastically. Moving forward, we aim to minimize membership fees to support the upkeep of our website, relying on donations to fund additional costs and industry projects.

Starting July 2024, membership to OPPASA will be available at a minimal fee of R50 per month. Sponsors will have the flexibility to choose the amount and purpose of their donations, contributing to initiatives that align with their values and priorities.

We invite all stakeholders in the outdoor power equipment industry to share their thoughts and suggestions on these changes. Your feedback is invaluable as we strive to build a stronger and more resilient community together.
